Chronic kidney disease (CKD) has become a major non-communicable disease (NCD) with significant morbidity and mortality. We are part of the Indian Chronic Kidney Disease (ICKD) cohort that has already enrolled >4000 patients with CKD across 11 centers in India. The study is now in its second phase and will continue to follow these enrolled participants for development of complications and adverse outcomes. It is coupled to serial annual bio-banking of blood and urine and therefore, provides opportunity for discovery and validation of biomarkers. In addition to being a participating center, we maintain the central database and bio-bank of the ICKD study.
